Two new road safety cameras in Narre Warren and Yarraville have been activated.

Cameras at the two sites have been installed and have started enforcement following a rigorous testing and certification process.

The Narre Warren camera, located at the intersection of Narre Warren Road North and Ernst Wanke Road, has been installed to a speed limit of 80km per hour for both northbound and southbound traffic. The site was selected because of its proximity to Mary MacKillop Primary School, crash history and concerns from the local community.

The camera at the intersection of Francis Street and Wembley Avenue, Yarraville, has been upgraded from a wet-film camera and enforces traffic in both directions. The site was selected in response to a large volume of complaints received by VicRoads. The site has a high number of heavy vehicles travelling through the intersection, and is used as the main crossing point for students attending nearby Wembley Primary School. As the site is located in a school zone, it enforces variable speed zones (40km/h and 60km/h).
